I felt unimportant, inconsequential- BEFORE HE CAME.

I languished in sin and torment- BEFORE HE CAME.
I felt lost without purpose- BEFORE HE CAME.
I had no real joy or peace- BEFORE HE CAME.

I was spiraling down to hell- BEFORE HE CAME.
I was hungry and void -BEFORE HE CAME.
My soul was in mortal danger-BEFORE HE CAME.

THEN ONE GLORIOUS DAY-JESUS CAME!!!

Like a bird in flight; He lifted me up.
I thirsted for Him; He filled my cup.
My soul was hungry; He gave to me bread.
He endowed me with new life; when once I felt dead.

I surrendered all in my life to Jesus, the Christ.
I refrained from the bad things I once did in life.
No more do I flounder and dwell with swine.
I must always protect this precious soul of mine.

I’ll love you my brother; when you don’t love me.
God said this is right and how things should be.
I’ll pray for you still and ask for God’s grace.
I will not speak evil; when not in your face.

Not to love each other would not please our God.
He loves US in spite of… and loving us must be hard.
If we remember Christ upon that old wretched tree;
The one that He died on to set wicked man free;

We would stop with the whining and not complain.
We’d take up our cross and bear it in Jesus’ name.
When Christ Jesus rose in my weary soul that day;
All the pain the world issued me just melted away.

I shall live all my life close to God and in His will.
His blessings and mercy sometimes baffle me still.
I shall praise and pray to my Father everyday.
Never again will I leave Him; never again will I stray.

I will hold on to Christ Jesus until the very last.
I shall walk very closely keeping sin in my past.
When you serve and believe Him; and keep to Him close;
He will rescue you in times when you need Him most.

Before Jesus came and recreated my life;
I fell into sin; Satan’s favorite device.
Since God has cleansed and resurrected my soul;
To see Jesus return is my life’s favorite goal.

I am thankful dear Savior that you came along;
As things in my life were going painfully wrong.
Although I may trip; even fall sometimes;
I know that in Jesus, VICTORY IS MINE!
